6 killed in terrorist attack on Kenyan border
Police say the attackers broke down a compound entrance with a grenade before opening fire on the residents, who were asleep.
Mandera county governer Ali Roba, where the attack took place, confirmed six people had been killed by the suspected jihadis, branding it “sad”.
It took place around 2AM local time in Mandera town, located on the Kenya-Somalia border.
The region has seen cross-border raids by militants in the past but police operations mean there had been a lull in attacks.
